Farm shops love Staglers….. We totally support the Farm Shops and the earth to plate movement. Food is so important and looking ahead to 2019 we are going to leave the Staglers stand behind and head to Exeter. We actively search out those exhibitions where we can sample some fresh & healthy farm produce.
We strongly agree that the synergy between farm shops and animal feeds is standing the test of modern living.
We went to the The Source Trade Show. The exhibition hall had lots of amazing producers displaying delicious tomatoes, fresh fruit juices from Folkington;s , magnificent cheese from Neals Yard Dairy and even over 40 recipes to choose from if you fancy a Scotch egg from the Handmade Scotch Egg Company
We met some lovely families who are running successful farm shops all over the country. The personal knowledge and ability to deliver fresh produce gives your the opportunity to Pick Your Own food.
We met a lovely hardworking family:
Roots at Thorpe Farm, Barkby Thorpe, Leicester
The Mount family has farmed at Thorpe Farm for several generations. When George Mount (left) returned to the farm, his wish was to open a farm shop to sell the farm’s own vegetables. The farm shop opened in 2008 in a converted brick-built barn and it’s attention to detail that makes this small farm shop special. George’s wife, Felicity, has just joined him in the farm shop and their first joint project is a meeting room, opened in October 2013.
